Hazel Galloway, on her debut championship run for Fethard Athletic Club, struck double gold at the National Masters Indoor Championships, on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the TÚS Campus Arena Athlone
Hazel has just started her cycle of training for The European Masters in Toruń, Poland, in mid-March. She was very happy with her performances in Athlone. In the 60m Hazel cruised to victory in 11.18 seconds and in the 200m Hazel went to the line in a mixed race with a number of 40-year-old athletes but she never looked out of place and came home in a time of 39.14 seconds winning the Over-65 200m title. Hazel's performances in these events are consistently remarkable and we sincerely hope she caps off her outstanding sprinting career with a podium finish in the Europeans this year.
