‘New Look’ School Sports Field
Fethard GAA Club’s under 12 footballers played their first home championship match in the newly renovated school field on Saturday last. This great facility is now available for GAA use and could not have been achieved without the help and work by the club members who really pushed this project in co-operation with the Patrician Presentation Secondary School. The club now look forward to working with the local schools in the future.

Shane Neville, a sixth class student from Holy Trinity National School in Fethard, has been awarded a full academic scholarship to attend Rockwell College next September.
Shane is an exceptionally talented student with many wonderful attributes. He is conscientious and dedicated to his studies and has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in his education to date. In addition to this Shane is talented in many sports. He plays on the school hurling and football teams and is currently a member of one of the school’s Spikeball teams who have recently progressed to the Regional Finals which are due to be held in Cork in March. Drama is another one of Shane’s strengths. He played the lead role of Robin Hood in the school’s recent Christmas concert and his performance drew a lot of fantastic reviews! Last year, he represented his class on the Student Council and demonstrated his many skills in organising many Student Council events in school.
His teacher, Ms Rebecca Meagher together with Principal, Mrs Triona Morrisson and the entire staff of Holy Trinity National School are hugely proud of Shane and wish him every happiness and success in secondary school. We know that Shane has a very, very bright future ahead of him!

Fethard Athletic Club
Fethard Athletic Club played host to the County Masters Road Championships in wet and windy conditions on Sunday last but that didn't deter a hardy crowd of over 100 participants, which ensured a really exciting race on an otherwise dreary day.
The club was well represented in both the men's and women's races and didn't disappoint as Aine Doocey collected a bronze medal in the over 35 category and Bernard Feery won gold in the over 50s. The day was a great success and well organised due to the help of many club members who were involved in stewarding, course marking, signage and post race refreshments so thanks to all.
Next up is the Novice B County Championships, which take place at 12 noon in Moyne next Sunday, March 1, where we hope to have a good crew from the club travelling.
Training continues Mondays and Fridays at 7.15pm from the ballroom carpark. New members welcome and walkers/joggers also encouraged to come along for ‘meet and train’ groups.

Vote for our four local Junk Kouture teams
This year Fethard Patrician Presentation Secondary School were delighted to get four teams through to the semi-final of Junk Kouture, to take place in Limerick Concert Hall on Friday 13th March 2015. Junk Kouture is an annual competition held in Ireland which challenges teenagers to create high-end wearable fashion from everyday junk that would normally find its way to the bin.
