The numbers drawn in the Fethard & Killusty Community Lotto on Wednesday 13th December were: 4, 14, 21 and 25. There was no Jackpot winner and no ‘Match 3’ winner so three tickets were drawn and the following won €50 each:

Goal Mile in Fethard

The first GOAL mile, which was the brainchild of former GOAL chairperson and international athlete, Noel Carroll, took place in the Phoenix Park, Dublin in 1982. It is now an integral part of Christmas Day in over 55 venues throughout Ireland for people to help those less fortunate than themselves.

GOAL is an international humanitarian agency dedicated to the alleviation of the suffering of the poorest of the poor. It was founded by its Chief Executive, John O’Shea in 1977. GOAL works towards ensuring that the most vulnerable in our world and those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental needs and rights of life, i.e. food, water, shelter, medical attention and primary education. It is non-denominational, non-governmental and non-political.

Carol Singing

Some of the large group of children and adults that turned out for the Annual Christmas Carols on the streets of Fethard in aid of the CRC 'Santa Bear Appeal' on Thursday 21st December.

Transition Year Youth Group Christmas Carolling
On Friday 22 December, Transition Years took to the main street of Fethard to sing in aid of the Christmas Town Lights. The TY group have been meeting over the past couple of months in the Tirry centre as one of the youth groups of the Fethard Community Youth Project. Many thanks to all those involved, including the Presentation School and staff and adult volunteers and to all those that sang to raise the money.

Happy Christmas Walking Woodies
What better way to celebrate the success of the Walking Woodies youth group than a good Christmas Party? And the Walking Woodies did just that. This week the Fethard Community Youth Project youth group held their Christmas party in the Woodvale Walk community House with the help of adult volunteers Teresa Roche, Delores O’Donnell, Cora McGarry, and Patsy Lawrence. The party was a success with lots of games, goodies, music and fun. The group has run for ten weeks now and we look forward to a fun filled 2007.
