The death has occurred of Kitty Fogarty, Curraghscarteen, Fethard. Remains left her home at 4pm on Thursday 29th December, for Holy Trinity Parish Church, Fethard. Requiem Mass took place at 11am on Friday followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
The death has occurred of Joe Nixon, Waterford, on 26th December. Joe was the FÁS Area Supervisor based in Clonmel and was involved in many community schemes in Fethard from the building of the Community Centre, Abymill Theatre, Town Wall, up to the present Community Employment Scheme operating from the Tirry Centre which employes 15 participants. Interment ttook place in Co. Mayo.
The death has occurred of Paddy Murphy, Burke Street, Fethard. Interment tookk place in Calvary Cemetery.
Congratulations to Tommy O'Brien and Liz Tobin who got married on Wednesday 21st December in Ballylooby.
Community Christmas Lotto

Fethard & District Day Care Centre
The Day Care Centre will re-open on January 3rd and Meals-on Wheels will re-start on Wednesday 4th January. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
‘Goal Mile’ on Christmas Day
On Christmas Day in Fethard locals showed the spirit of Christmas by turning out in force to support the international humanitarian organisation Goal's mile walk. Above photograph shows organiser Colm McGrath (left) signing in Micéal McCormack, Catherine Kearney and daughter Mary Jane.

Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
The annual Carol Service held in Holy Trinity Church of Ireland attracted a very large attendance on Sunday 18th December. Organised Peter Kenny and the choir led the congregation for the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in the appropriate setting of Fethard’s medieval church, which was adorned with beautiful flower displays throughout. The choir, directed by Fr. Peter Haughey OSA, also performed solo for two carols which were sung in beautiful harmony and very well received by all present.
Readers at the service were; Mary Jane Kearney, Thelma Griffith, Dick Major, Jackie Freyne, Michael McCarthy, John Stokes, Heather Baily, Fr. John Meagher OSA and Rev. Canon Jim Power. The evening concluded with refreshments served.
