Senior Football resumed on Sunday last 27th April— the first Easter free from games in five years — with a very keen contest in the County League on a scoreline, Fethard 0-13 (0-7), Ardfinnan 1-10 (0-7). This was one off the better league games with teams scoring level on five occasions, and was a useful run for both teams. Aherne 0-2, Karl Maher 0-1, Glen Burke 0-4 (2f), Willie Morrissey 0-2, Conor McCarthy, Brian Coen 0-1, and Alan Phelan 0-1. Subs: (all in second half) Aiden Fitzgerald 0-1, Damien Byrne, John Paul Looby, Kenneth O’Donnell, and Brendan Brett. This now gives us six points from four games with three games to come, Loughmore (away), Cahir (home), and Moyle Rovers (away).

ABYMILL FIFTEENTH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT

The Abymill Theatre, first opened in May 1988, will celebrate its fifteenth anniversary with a Gala Concert on 9th May featuring, ‘Sopranos’ three of Ireland’s leading singers; The Gordonaires from Clonmel; and master of ceremonies Billy McLellan.
Sopranos is an exciting new Irish vocal trio who are currently sweeping the country with their mixture of opera, light-musical and Irish songs. They are young, fresh and modern and although all three are classically trained, they are not afraid to poke fun at the sometimes stuffy institution of classical singing! Wendy Dwyer (Cork), Kay Lynch (Tralee) and Deirdre Masterson (Gorey) between them have a wealth of experience on all musical platforms, ranging from soloist with Riverdance to leading roles on the International Operatic Stage.
Everything they sing is specially arranged and they have already developed an enviable reputation for their unique sound featuring innovative three-part harmonies. An evening with the group is a complete theatrical experience, the music interwoven with fully scripted and staged scenes. Not to be missed!
Seats at €12 each for this special anniversary concert can be booked now at O’Flynn’s Menswear, Burke Street, Tel: 052 31254 or 087 1338961.
