Saturday 30th October 1999

MARRIED RECENTLY
The wedding took place recently in Fedamore, Co. Limerick, of Michael, son of Mr and Mrs Eddie Trehy, Kilnockin, to Ms Cathy Walsh, Fedamore.
The wedding has taken place in the U.S.A. of Ray, son of Mr and Mrs Dan Cummins, St. Patricks Place to Ms Leslie Gunther, Connecticut, U.S.A. Prior to emigrating Ray Cummins was a prominent Fethard and Tipperary hurler and footballer. Ray with his brother Owen continue to figure prominently in New York GAA playing circles and both were members of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Team which won this years New York SH Championships.

LUCKY WINNER
Congratulations to Ed Sheehan, St. Patricks Place lucky outright winner of the £1,400 Jackpot in last weeks Augustinian Abbey Building Fund Lotto Draw.

RECENT DEATH
The death has occurred in Surrey, England, of Mr. Paddy Sheehan, formerly of Redcity Road, Fethard.

TRAGIC ACCIDENT
Fethard was stunned on Sunday morning with the news of the death of John McGarry, Woodvale Walk, following an accident on Saturday night in his native Ballynonty.
The tragedy was all the more poignant as John was married on just the 3rd July last to Anne Morrissey, St. Patricks Place. Sincere sympathy is extended to the McGarry and Morrissey families. Interment took place in Calvary Cemetery.

HUNTING
Ballylusky White Heather Harriers have been obliged to alter their November hunting arrangements. They will now meet in Ballylusky on this Sunday Nov. 7th and in Cloneen on Nov. 14th.

SOUTH TIPPERARY SENIOR FOOTBALL FINAL
The eagerly awaited South Tipperary Senior Football final between Fethard and Moyle Rovers takes place in Kilsheelan on Sunday. Many Fethard supporters were of the opinion that Fethard should have beaten the Rovers in their County semi-final game at New Inn. The old hard luck story had oft been Fethard's downfall. The late Mikie Dalton often said “that’s the one player Fethard should drop”.
Next Sundays gives the Blues a chance to make amends. The outcome is awaited with great interest.

The club competed in the South Executive Basketball competition in Cahir on Thursday last and in the Finals of the South Volleyball competition in Tipperary Town on Sunday afternoon last.
Club members have led a hectic social life recently. Many members travelled to Shrule, Co. Mayo to support Brendan Morrissey in the Culchie Festival. Brendan gained great publicity for his efforts as he was interviewed twice on UTV’s Kelly Chatshow and on Today FM radio along with being pictured in the Daily Mirror with three beauties - having his legs shaved! Well done, Brendan.
On Saturday October 30th all roads led to Clonmel where the South Executive were promoting their annual Halloween Disco. The next outing on the agenda is to the Queen of the Land Competition in Tullamore on the weekend of Nov. 13th and 14th.
