THE LOST POST
Professional and business people have good cause for complaint re. Town Postal deliveries in recent weeks. Whatever the reason some town post is not being delivered in Fethard until between 5.30 and 6.30 pm. This late delivery precludes answering urgent letters in time for the same day's post. As if the late delivery was not bad enough a Main Street Businessman informs us that a letter posted in Clonmel on October 16th was delivered on October 28th. However, why worry, have we not got the Internet, e-mail, the Fax machine and that miracle of modern technology which people will be soon using in the bathroom, they seem to be using them everywhere else, the Mobile Phone.

Well done to two local young punters who bet £40 between them at the odds of 100/1 that Wayne McCullough would go the full distance in his WBO World Featherweight Championship fight against Prince Naseem Hamed.
We were surprised to hear some shots being fired in the area as shooting continues well after 4pm on Sunday November 1st the opening of the Pheasant Shooting season. True Sportsmen should know game birds come out to pick and feed at dusk. The birds that give such good sport should be given a sporting chance to feed without being disturbed. Otherwise they will be forced to go to roost on an empty crop on cold winter nights.
