Fethard senior footballers, following their recent victories over Commercials and GrangemøckIcr, were certainly brought down to earth with a bang on Friday evening last. Playing Moyle Rovers in the South Tipperary SF championship, they were very much in touch, although four points behind at half-time. A point from Jimmy O'Meara ten minutes into the second half, which, with a bit of luck; might have been a goal, kept Fethard well in the game. Then the roof fell in. Within five minutes Rovers rammed in three goals to give them a 13 point lead. From then to full-time they ran riot to win by 5-12 to 1-10, inflicting on Fethard their heaviest defeat ever in South Tipperary senior football.
