The numbers drawn on 26th May were: 16, 18, 26 and 31. We had no Jackpot winner and no ‘Match 3’ winner so the following drawn tickets won €50: Patrick Bergin, Clonmel; Catherine & Eamon Kennedy, Cois Falla, Fethard; John Morrissey, Brittas, Cashel.
The three following Lucky Dip winners received €50 each: Margaret Doocey, Abbey Road, Fethard; Alice Lawrence, Woodvale Walk, Fethard; and Kevin O'Donnell, Monroe, Fethard.

Fired by Bees
Workshops have been taking place at Crampscastle Pottery for the exhibition ‘Fired By Bees’, which will take place at the County Museum Clonmel from the 3rd to 19th June.

This multimedia exhibition is a homage to the honey bee and her bumbling relations. The exhibition is an initiative of the heritage office to highlight the vital and complex role the bee plays in the cycle of life. This colourful exhibition is part of the ‘B4 Biodiversity’ campaign as part of International Year of Biodiversity.
Along with the ceramics from Dóirín Saurus's Crampscastle workshops, Dóirín has also invited artists who work in glass, silver, stone and felt. Amongst the exhibitors are Rory Donohoe (silver), Maura Whelan (glass), Diane Reid (porcelain), Una Ni Sheaghdha (felt) and Miriam Robinson (painting installation). Lyn Mather is creating a mandala.

The children from Killurney National School are also contributing a group ceramic piece of bees and flowers to the exhibition.
There will be talks and workshops during the course of the exhibition. Watch out for John Feehan's talk on the honeybee on the10th June at 7pm.

This project has been kindly supported by The Heritage Council and South Tipperary County Council Heritage Office. Please note that the Museum is closed 8th June.

The annual Corpus Christi Procession takes place on this coming Sunday evening, 6th June, at 7pm, commencing from outside Fethard Parish Church and proceeding to the Augustinian Abbey. All are invited to come along.

The custom of carrying the Blessed Sacrament in procession through the town on Corpus Christi Day developed in the early fourteenth century. During the later Middle Ages these processions developed into splendid pageants of devotion and honour to the Blessed Sacrament.

Fethard ICA Guild
Fethard ICA will hold their next meeting on Tuesday 8th June at the usual time of 8pm in the ICA Hall, Rocklow Road. Hostesses for catering are the ‘Yellow Group’.

Well done to all the guilds who took part in the Federation Centenary Concert held in Halla na Feile, Cashel, on Wednesday 26th May. A wonderful night's entertainment was provided by the members.

Congratulations to Peggy O'Brien, Ballingeary Guild, on being elected Munster Vice-President. Peggy was installed at the Council meeting held in Adare on 27th May. A large group from South Tipperary Federation travelled to Adare to support her. It is the first time that a candidate from South Tipperary has held that post. We wish Peggy much success on her appointment, over the coming three years.

Advice Clinic
Deputy Mattie McGrath will hold an Advice Clinic on Friday 4th June in the Castle Inn Bar, Fethard at 8.30pm. All are welcome!

Another victory for Jack
Just four weeks after winning his 3rd All-Ireland title, Jack Connolly, The Green, a member of Clonmel Boxing club was on the winners podium again, after putting in a spectacular display on how boxing should be fought and won.

All roads led to Cork on 30th May to the Leeside Lough Boxing clubs Annual Tournament, where Jack was up against John Keenan from Mahon Lough Boxing club, Cork City. Jack looking lean and in perfect condition was too strong and fast for the Cork boxer, and after giving him two standing counts in the first 40 seconds of the second round, the referee stopped the contest, and Jack won on a technical knockout.

This victory was even more sweet as this was Jacks first contest at 57kgs, after moving up from 54kgs, and was very much within his comfort zone.

The season is coming to a close soon and a well-deserved rest is long overdue for Jack, after another fantastic year in the life of this very popular young boxer. Again Jack well done on a brilliant performance.

Fethard Juvenile GAA Club
It is with some regret but also great pride, that our U-12 C team lost out to the bigger and better team of Clonakenny in our bid for the county semifinal win last week. What a display of Gaelic football from the teams and what a display of support from the spectators. A game to remember!

Without a shadow of a doubt the dedication of Willie Morrissey, Willie Quigley and our team earned Fethard the last Under-12C South championship of the GAA. A little bit of history is being made this year in all the Under-12 categories. It is only fitting that we name all our lads and lassies on the team: Harry Butler, Sally Butler, Megan Coen, Kate Davy, Adam Dorney, Michael Earl, Matthew Lynch, Darragh Lynch, Megan McCarthy, Ross McCormack, Joseph O'Connor, Molly O'Meara, Thomas O’Reilly, Tony O'Reilly, Liam Quigley, Dean Walsh-Kenny, Rebecca Walsh-Kenny, Jack Ward, Nathan Costin, Dean Dorney, Eric Fogarty, Jess McCormack, Thomas Morgan, Eoin O'Donovan, Andrew Phelan, Tom Sheehan and Jonathan Hennessey. The future of Fethard GAA is in the hands of volunteers, parents and, of course, the players. Roll on the hurling!
We will hold a Cúl Camp registration/information evening on Monday 14th June from 7pm-8pm, those of you who have already booked your place will be able to pay on this night. This is your last chance to guarantee a place and be supplied with a full 'kit package'. Please don't leave it too late!

We are the last camp of the season therefore we need to get our order for 'kit packages' in immediately. Your can assure you place now by texting Annette O'Donovan on 086 8120513 with name, date of birth and contact phone number. You can also text Ann Fleming on 086 8963925 with the same information. We also need some parents to help with running this year’s Cúl Camp. If you are available and interested, please come along to the information evening on Monday 14th June.

The U-12 Hurling Championship fixtures are already in circulation and we will keep you posted. Please remember helmets are compulsory and you cannot train or play without one. At the present time Cooper helmets are not covered by GAA insurance.

Our U-14s are out on Tuesday 1st June in the South semifinal against Fr. Sheehys, in Ned Hall Park. We wish our lads the best of luck and hope to have some good news to report next week.

Kyle Walsh represented Fethard on the South Tipp team this weekend, scoring six points for his side who came away with the shield after beating Mid Tipp. Well done Kyle.

U-16 training takes place on Mondays and Thursdays at 6.45pm. Those taking exams are welcome to join in the training but are excused if not present. Good luck to those of you who are about to sit exams.

Our next committee meeting takes place on Tuesday 15th June at 7.30pm.
