Saturday 14th February 1998

The Ballyluskey White Heather Harriers had their best day of the season following their meeting at Ballingarry on February 8th.
The largest turnout of followers enjoyed three excellent hunts, hounds making to ground at the conclusion of each run.
Next Sunday's meeting at Golden at noon.

The following officers were elected at the annual general meeting of Fethard Juvenile GAA Club
President: Dick Cummins; Chairman: Michael O'Dwyer; Joint hon. secretaries: Josie Fitzgerald and Dick Burke; Treasurer: Paula Gahan; Asst. treasurer: Noreen Burke. The meeting was poorly attended, which is regrettable. The excellent work done by the juvenile committee does not get the appreciation it deserves. Our young players are the future of the club and the association and their members are deserving of every support.

Congrats to members of Fethard Judo Club who were again among the medalists at the allIreland finals, held in University of Limerick, last weekend.
Eric O'Donnell won numerous bouts in the senior category and was only beaten in the final by a very narrow margin.
In the ladies' senior category, Valerie Colville also fought her way to reach the final. But on this occasion both Valerie and Eric were the recipients ot silver medals.
The club was also well represented in the form of D. J. Gorey who won a bronze medal under34kg. Roy Gorey won bronze under-45kg and John Harrington won a bronze medal under-72kg.
Many beginners from the club travelled to support and for their own experience.
Next date for Valerie is the inter-universities competition in Belfast in two weeks time. Many club members will then go to Galway for the international event in March.

Community games
Just a reminder to all that community games area annual area will depend on local support at this vital meeting. Please make a note of this date. This is an open invitation to everybody to attend and we hope it will be accepted by many.
general meeting will take place in the Tirry Centre on Monday next February 16th, at 830pm.
It is very important that parents of young people involved, representatives of various clubs and many new faces attend this meeting.
The area must be registered by February 28th to enable young people to take part in 1998.
