Fethard athletics
Best of luck to local Fethard AC athletes who travel to Derry this weekend to compete in the all-Ireland NACA Irish national juvenile track and field championships.
Munster champion Eoin O'Sullivan goes in the under-14 600 and 800 metres events; David O'Sullivan in the 300 metres; and Eoin Maher in the under-16 100 metres and 300 metres.
Well done to their coach and manager Miceál McCormack who won a silver all-Ireland medal at the NACA all-Ireland veterans' championships at Tullamore. Miceál was a member of the Tipperary .over-35 4x100 metres relay team.

Recent Death
The death has occurred of Mrs Joan Lonergan, Main Street. Interment took place at Calvary Cemetery.

Fethard Bridge Club
Results Wednesday 9th July: 1st' gross Breda Walsh and Margaret O'Rourke; 2nd gross Betty Walsh and Suzanne Oprey; 1st nett Maura Mullins and Kathleen O'Connell; 2nd nett Mary Quirke and Tony Hanrahan. Wednesday 16th July 1st gross Nell Broderick adn Moira Mclnerney; 2nd gross Eileen Murphy and Olive Creighton; 1st nett Breda Walsh and Margaret O'Rourke; 2nd nett Eve Goodbody and Suzanne Oprey.

Fethard beat Clonmel Commercials by nine points, 0-19 to 0-10, in their South Tipperary SF semi-final game at Kusheelan on Sunday night last.
